I’m so happy to have been invited to take part in the audio blog tour for this cracking thriller!

My Thoughts

Set in the UK in Edinburgh, Detective Inspector Luc Callanach who was a former Interpol Officer, has joined the Crime team in Scotland, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge, and also a bag full of rumours that still follow him, and his methods around.

Ava is his work colleague, and they actually make a great pair, they seems to balance themselves out, while Ava is fun loving and knowledge based, Callanach comes across as a grumpy old man with a stick up his ass!

We also get the POV of the murderer, and we are privy to the information in his mind, we can what he is doing, to whom, and who will be next, and let me tell you, It. Is. Dark!!

The gruesome parts are very descriptive, I for one loved them, but be prepared to wince a lot while reading them.

This was a very clever thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you turning the pages (or in my case listening to the audiobook) I stayed up way too late trying to piece things together and work out what was going on.

Narration was by Robin Laing, a brand new to me narrator.

I thought that he did a great job with the narrating, it must be so difficult to switch back and forth from a French accent to Scottish, and Laing seemed to be able to do it seamlessly.

This is one that will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat, from beginning to end.

Strap yourself in, this one is going to be a bumpy ride!

While driving to Utah to see her dying mother in hospital, Darby gets caught in the mother of all snowstorms, she is currently in the mountains of Colorado so there is nowhere for her to go, but she sees a rest stop nearby.

With no phone signal and the roads all closed, Darby decides to wait out the storm there.

In the rest stop there are a couple of vending machines, and coffee Hallelujah!!

There are a 4 people there that have obviously had the same idea and are already caffeinated, so Darby joins them and introduces herself, after all, it;s going to be a long evening.

Desperate to get some information about her mother, Darby tries in vein to get a phone signal, maybe if she was a little higher, or if she was further out, so she goes for a little walk to see if she can get anything, her phone is almost out of juice, and she is starting to panic as her mother has an operation scheduled.

While wandering around the car-park waving her phone in the air, desperate to get a signal, she sees …something.

She’s not sure if she’s seeing things so she checks again, and yes! She was right!

The van parked next to her car has a little girl…in a cage….in the back of the van!

But who’s van is it? There are only 4 people in the rest stop, all of them strangers, one of them is a kidnapper, and she has barely any phone battery and no signal, what can she do?

This is a great thriller that will have your heart racing from the get-go.

Narrated by Sarah Naughton who did an excellent job, her character voices were great and made me have a serious loathing for at least one of the characters.

Grab this one if you can, you won’t be disappointed

My Thoughts

Grab snacks, and anything else you might need before diving into this one, go to the loo before, you have been warned!

This one will keep you on the edge of your seat, I shouted ‘oh no’ more than once reading this!

It starts out a little slow, but then the pace kicks in, and you are running full force for the rest of the story.

Tom and Rachel are married, however they are slowly breaking down, their teenage son died in a car accident, and the blame and hurt are slowly creeping into their marriage, and neither of them really know what to do.

On top of the guilt for their sons accident, their 13 year old daughter was involved in a mugging and although she says she is ok, her swollen face from where the mugger punched her, makes the guilt rear it’s ugly face once more.

A family friend offers the family to get away and stay in a lodge that he has in a remote place in Scotland, and although Tom isn’t really up for it, they agree as it will give them to have time as a family together, as Tom has recently moved out of the family home to give him and Rachel some space to sort things out in their own heads.

The lodge is amazing, all mod-cons and fancy-pants, with a great big gate to stop other people from coming in.

They have a fab evening and all got to bed as usual, but then they hear a window being broken, and when going to investigate, Tom sees 2 masked men walking around downstairs!!

Tom, Rachel, Holly and Buster the dog have to try and find a way out of the house and to safety, but how can you do that when you are in the middle of nowhere, with no phone signal, and gates the that are supposed to keep people out, are the ones keeping you in?

A thrill-a-minute read, strap yourself in!

My Thoughts

You’ve got a lovely Date Night planned with your hubby, you’ve arranged the babysitter and everything is ready, except you, you need to get ready.

But you have this little knot of doubt in your stomach, ever since you saw that little slip of paper on your car, and when you read it, it made you doubt your husbands loyalty, because it said that your husband is having an affair!

You aim to talk about it later, so you get yourself ready, and let the babysitter in, make sure she’s comfortable and let her know that there is food made for her if she wants it, and to ‘help yourself to anything in the cupboards’ and off you go.

Except your date isn’t that great, you argue, and you bicker, so much so, that you leave early and go home!

But when you get there something is wrong, very wrong.

The door is open and the TV is on, there is a half eaten meal on the chair, but the babysitter has gone, she is nowhere in the house, and she has left your baby upstairs sleeping alone!

You are understandably very angry with her, so you try and call, but there is no answer, where the hell is she? And why would she just up-and-leave?

It is only when the police arrest you for her murder, that you start to realise that this is really, really bad!

Prepare yourself for twists and turns reading this one, it really is a great read.

Narrated by Ellie Heydon, who did a cracking job, I thought that her narration was great, her character voices were fab, and her delivery was perfect.

I’m super excited to share my review for this awesome thriller, this is one that you should definitely add to your TBR pile, and if it is already on there, bump it up!

As soon as I read the synopsis for this book, I knew I had to read it.

A YA gay thriller, where the MC wakes up next to a dead guy!!!

I mean…who wouldn’t want to read that??  Sign. Me. Up!

Aidan is our protagonist in this story, he is 17 years old, and is staying the night in a hotel in New York.

As any young red-blooded male would do, Aidan picks up his phone, and logs into his “Dirty Paws” app (think Grindr) to find himself a hookup for the evening.

Except when he wakes up after his little tryst, his partner for the evening is dead!

After looking around the room to find out what the hell is going on, Aidan finds the mans phone, and looking through it, finds pictures, lot and lots of pictures…of him!

After noticing a small hole in the window, and a terrifying call from an unknown person claiming to know what he has done and who he is, Aidan finds himself on the run, from his friends, from the FBI, and what seems to be some kind of Cult.

This is a case of mistaken identity going horribly wrong, and I loved every second of it, and the nod to Hitchcock throughout the book was fantastic.

Aidan is such a great character, he has a very dry sense of humour and is very self deprecating, which I found adorable, It is a very British thing to do, so I instantly connected with him.

Lots of twist and turns in this one, so make sure your head is screwed on tight, otherwise you may just lose it!

Narrated by Jay Ben Markson, who was just a wonderful voice for Aidan, I absolutely loved his mannerisms and narration style.

Grab this one when you can, you won’t regret it!

Prepare to turn into Miss Marple with this one, it will have you guessing right until the very end.

A teenager has been breaking into houses in the area, snooping on the home owners computers, what secrets could he find?

A couple of anonymous letters are delivered to the houses that were broken into, apologising for their sons behaviour, and to assure them that it has been dealt with and that it won’t happen again.

Local neighbours turn detective and try to figure out who sent the letters, but when a woman down the street is found murdered, the neighbourhood goes into fight-or-flight mode.

Who could it be?
Who would want to murder someone in this street?
Could it have anything to do with the break-ins?
What did they find on my computer??

A fabulous thriller that will keep you on your toes, you will second guess everything.

I’m delighted to bring you a review for this fabulous Audiobook that had me staying up way to late in the evening to listen, I needed to know!!

My Thoughts

Rachel Gaston lives in Edgewater, Oregon and has done all her life, she was married (and divorced) there, and her ex husband is a local cop.

Her 2 children live with her, and she is happy with her life….well, apart from the anxiety.

You see, Rachel is plagued with dreams, her dreams make her anxious, and anxiousness makes her paranoid, it is a vicious cycle, it impacts everything she does.

This also includes her relationship with her teenage children, who she is incredibly protective about, but tends to smother them with love as she is terrified something will happen to them, just like it did with her brother, when she accidentally killed him in a stupid kids game gone wrong.

On the 20^th anniversary of her brother’s death, Rachel starts getting mysterious texts from an unknown number, and objects in her house seem to have been moved around.

And then the murders start happening, the victims being some of the people that were with her that fateful day 20 years ago.

I really enjoyed this twisty psychological thriller, that had lots of twists and turns at every angle, prepare to have this face while speed reading your way through this one 😬😵

Narrated brilliantly by Christa Lewis who did an amazing job, I will certainly be looking out for more books narrated by her.

Prepare for some twists and turns and 180 spins with this little cracker of a Thriller, you won’t know what’s gonna hit you!!

I was sucked into the storyline and couldn’t put the darn thing down, and the only little snippets of information that I’m going to give you my little lovelies is this……

Well I’m making sure I definitely lock every door after reading this one, and windows, and taping down my letterbox 😮

A great creepy little thriller that will have you hiding under your duvet.

**We are looking for that special someone to apartment-sit for approx. 12 weeks.
You will get $12000 for this …….Yes you did read that right $12000!!

For this job you will be required to apartment sit, in a luxury set of apartments in the famous Bartholomew building, situated overlooking Central Park.

There are a specific set of rules that must be abided by, however, don’t let that dissuade of this fantastic opportunity**

 Jules sees that advert, and all her dreams come true in an instant, she is currently living on her best friend’s couch, as she lost her job and her boyfriend all in one day.

Everything seems to be against her, and she is unable to get herself sorted without any money behind her, until she sees the advert.

After blagging her way through the interview, she is offered the position, she is ecstatic about this, unlike her friend, who can’t help feeling that if something is too good to be true….it probably is!

Rules for the duration of her stay are a bit….well, weird, but if you are going to be paid 12 grand after 12 weeks, well you’d be prepared to follow some weird rules too, right?

After settling in and looking around, Jules meets another apartment sitter called Ingrid, and they soon become BFF’s, for a while…until she goes missing!

I loved this book, it has very creepy vibes about it, and reminded me a little of Rosemary’s Baby, The Bartholomew is based on The Dakota Apartments in NYC, complete with gargoyles and old-fashioned elevators with cages.

I mean, the building just screams creepy right? Add some gargoyles to the bedroom windows, and it’s Creepy-Dreams-R-Us 🤪

Perfectly narrated by Stephanie Cannon, who was just brilliant, this one is definitely on to add to your TBR

I’m super happy to bring you a review for this fab read, that quite frankly scared the pants off of me, the thought of a stranger just  being in your house when you arrive home makes me a bit 😲

Why Did You Pick It Up Vicci?

Well for one, if you’ve never read a book by Shalini Boland before then you are really missing out on some great reads, and also have you read the blurb to this book??!!

My Thoughts

So I don’t mind telling you that this one terrified me, and I don’t really know why!

I think it is something to do with the fact that Tessa Markham comes home from work one day, let’s herself in and makes her way into the kitchen, only to find a small child in there, who turns around and says “Are you my Mummy?”

Now I’m sure if I was in that situation in real life, I wouldn’t have said ARGHHHHH!!! (or something vaguely similar) but I did, those words just took me back to early 2000’s and that horrid Doctor Who episode called The Empty Child, and he wasn’t cute….he wasn’t cute at all!!

Anyhoo I digress.

Tessa finds the said (non evil) child in her kitchen and panics, what does she do? Who does she tell? and where the hell did he come from?

After calling the police and getting the side eye from them, she suddenly gets labelled as a child abductor, and people that know her, start looking at her in a different light.

Did she steal that child?, Is she what people are calling her?, or is there something sinister going on?

She doesn’t remember taking him, but her mind has been a little distracted after her recent tragedy, so who knows.

The press hound her, and her ex boyfriend isn’t helping much either.

Be prepared to whizz your way through this one, it’s a cracker!

I listened to the Audiobook narrated by Katie Villa who did a brilliant job , I will certainly be looking out for other titles that she has narrated.
