The Cornish Key to Happiness by Laura Briggs **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy Wednesday all!

And now it’s time to say goodbye to another delightful serious! This is the final book in A Series I have grown to love. I’m sad to see these characters go, but I am eager to see what Laura Briggs has in store for us next!✒️

The Cornish Key to Happiness

Past secrets return to complicate Maisie’s future with the charming Sidney Daniels in the final installment of the Cornish romance series.

Picking up where book seven left off, Maisie’s plans to celebrate her book’s thrilling news remain on hold after Sidney has vanished from Port Hewer overnight, following a brush with his secret past. His departure leaves Maisie with a head full of questions and a heart torn in two, made even worse by the rumors flying about him through the town. Where and why has he gone? Will he ever come back again? And—foremost in Maisie’s mind—was the heartache from his younger days somehow to blame for his sudden and mysterious flight?

But when Dean convinces her that Sidney may be facing a choice that could ruin his life, Maisie must set out to find him, once again leaving behind the Cornish seaside haven of Port Hewer she’s come to think of as home, and leaving behind the answer to a secret she’s been longing to know since the beginning. Not knowing when or if she’ll return, she’s taking the biggest risk with her heart so far…and the truth she discovers waiting for her at the end of her journey will make her wonder if things can ever possibly be the same as they were before.

Questions are answered, secrets are spilled, and the biggest reveal of the series is finally unveiled as A LITTLE HOTEL IN CORNWALL reaches its exciting conclusion.

My Thoughts

A fabulous ending to a fantastic series! This is the eighth and final installment in the Little Hotel in Cornwall series. I have enjoyed every minute I’ve spent with Maisie and friends… I hate to say goodbye to these characters, but I’m happy with the direction their lives are headed in. This book picks up right where the previous book leaves off and takes Maisie away from Cornwall to seek out Sydney. When she finds Sydney secrets begin to be revealed. Will these secret lead to a happily ever after or to the end of the road for this couple? That and the biggest question of them all will be answered in this book. If you have followed the series this will be a satisfying final chapter. This book had all the whimsy and charm of the previous books and put a big smile on my face. I only have one more thing to say, Laura Briggs where are you taking me next?

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James **Book Review** @BerkleyPub

Happy Tuesday everybody!

This book was so so good I cannot recommend it enough! A ghost story, a mystery, and a thriller all wrapped up in the perfect package! And today the book is releasing in paperback! 👻

My Thoughts

HOT DAMN! This was SO GOOD!

Creepy, chilling, atmospheric, brilliant. Bravo Simone St. James! This book will make you believe in ghosts. Lights turning on and off, doors opening and closing, the smell of cigarette smoke in the air, a hint of perfume, a woman in a floral dress telling you to “run“. After the death of her mother Carly heads to upstate New York with the intention of solving a family mystery. In 1982 Carly‘s aunt Vivian disappeared from the town of Fell, New York never to be seen again. 37 years later and Carly finds herself not only living in the same apartment as her aunt, but also working at the same motel and encountering the same ghosts.

Told in dual timelines from the perspectives of both Carly and Viv. I loved how the two stories mimicked one another but they both had a unique voice to them. I thought that St. James did a marvelous job of showcasing how almost The same investigation was executed 37 years apart. All the technical advancements, computers, cell phones, Internet, however the Sundown motel seems unchanged. Loved puzzling the Mystery together with both Carly and Viv. I have to say these ladies were either much braver or much stupider than me, because I would’ve been so out of there the minute I saw those doors opening and closing! They both really did put themselves in ridiculously dangerous positions, it’s like when you’re watching a scary movie and hoping the person just runs out of the house. I wouldn’t say this book was scary necessarily, but it was a whole lot of creepy! Exceptional storytelling that completely sucked me in and would not let me go until the last word.

The 12 Christmases of You and Me by Jennifer Joyce **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy Tuesday all!

Today I have another ho ho ho holiday read for you! This time it involves a little timetravel.🎄

The 12 Christmases of You & Me

What if you could go back in time and fix the biggest mistake of your life?

Two years ago, Maisie’s best friend walked out of her life and she hasn’t heard from him since. When she wakes up in 1994, she naturally assumes she’s dreaming. But when she finds herself in the past again the next night and her actions in the dream alter her present-day life, she begins to wonder if she’s somehow hopping back in time. And if she is time-travelling, can she save her friendship with Jonas?

When Maisie is forced to relive Christmases of the past, will she face up to her mistakes, or make them all over again?

The 12 Christmases of You & Me is a magical tale of friendship, first loves, and learning to live in the present.

My Thoughts

Magic and mistletoe. Tinsel and time travel. Wreathes and whimsy. This was my first Jennifer Joyce book, but it will definitely not be my last! This was just such an enchanting story filled with friendship and festive vibes. Maisie, Jonas, and Lily have been friends for ages, but recently Maisie and Jonas had a falling out. In the days leading up to Lily’s holiday wedding Maisie begins having very vivid “dreams“. Noticing that things are slightly altered every time she “wakes up“ Maisie begins to wonder if these are dreams or she is actually traveling to the past. And if she is traveling to the past can she repair her friendship with Jonas? Time traveling in books can occasionally go terribly wrong, but it definitely was done perfectly in this book. Even though I’ve had some pretty bad things happen in my life I would never go back and change anything, because I would never want to alter my current life. This book touched on that against a festive Christmas backdrop. Maisie visits many a Christmas past and has many choices to make. I loved just everything about this book the characters were all fabulous, the storyline was engaging, and the ending warmed my heart.
