The Book Lover Victoria Connelly **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy Monday book lovers!

Hope you’re doing well! This book is the ultimate book lovers romance! So if you love books and you love romance this is the one for you!

Author Callie Logan never expected to swap her life in London for one in rural Suffolk but, after the breakdown of her marriage, she decides that a fresh start is just what she needs. Finding Owl Cottage in the tiny village of Newton St Clare, Callie determines to give up on love and throw herself into her work. But fate seems to have other ideas and she soon has two very different men vying for her attention.

First there’s Leo who likes to live on the wild side which usually means taking his dates foraging in the local woods for their supper. Then there’s Sam Nightingale, owner of Nightingale’s bookshop. Sam, recovering from a divorce, has also vowed to embrace the single life. That is, until he meets Callie.

But is Callie willing to risk her heart again and, if she is, will she make the right choice?

My Thoughts

A sweet story filled with romance and books. This really is the ultimate book lovers romance. Author Callie Logan moves to a small village after the unraveling of her marriage. She is eager to live a quieter life away from busy London and free of love. But as we all know love tends to happen when you aren’t looking for it and soon Callie meets two interesting but very different men. So will Callie find love again? And with who? And most important of all will she get her reading mojo back?

I was a little concerned when I read the blurb for this because I am not a fan of the love triangle. But I have to say this was not really a love triangle there was an obvious choice (well at least it was for me). I really loved this small charming village. And everyone in this village must read because there were at least three bookstores all run by members of the nightingale family. The nightingale family was probably my favorite part of this book. I loved all the family members and their passion for life and books. There is a lot of booktalk in this story especially between Callie and Sam Nightingale. Something this book made me realize is that I am more interested in the content of books then the look, feel, or smell. This was an engaging feel-good story and I am looking forward to more books in the series.

That Nightin Paris by Sandy Barker **Book Review** @rararesources @onemorechapter @sandybarker

Happy Monday all!

Hope you had a lovely lovely weekend! The sun finally came out we had six straight days of rain here in Southern California some kind of record, hasn’t happened in 50 years! Books really have been the most amazing escape and this one was absolutely perfect as I traveled through France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany alongside these fabulous characters.

My Thoughts

Was so fun taking a whistle stop tour of Europe right from the comfort of my own living room while social distancing. Sandy Barker’s descriptive writing made me feel as though I was right there with Cat and crew on this adventure. Cat makes a huge mistake and sleeps with her roommate, who consequently is in love with her. Rather than facing the situation she decides to book herself a two week trip on a bus/coach trip around Europe. While on the trip she makes lots of new friends including her bus Bestie Louise. The first stop on the trip is Paris where Cat runs into her long lost friend John Luc. And of course he is absolutely gorgeous and nice and smart and oh yeah gorgeous. What follows is an engaging story of fun, friendship, food, and amour.

Parts of this book were a little surreal given current circumstances. I could not help but think when they were visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris or riding in gondolas in Venice what these places look like right now? I think that is something I really appreciated about this book is that it reminded me of how things once were and how they will once again be. It really was like traveling right along with these characters, all the attractions were so well described. So was the food, I was seriously hungry throughout most of this book. However I must say I would not want to go on this particular bus trip, the sleeping accommodations were less than desirable. The friendships formed however were so fun to read about, and each character brought their own special personality to the story. The romance was sweet and frustrating. Cat had some major commitment issues and there were quite a few times I wasn’t certain that she deserved John Luke. This is a good book to get lost in: travel, romance, friendship, food, fashion, fun.

About the Book

Note to self: don’t sleep with your flatmate after a curry and two bottles of wine… especially if he’s secretly in love with you and wants you to meet his mum.

Cat Parsons is on the run. She doesn’t do relationships. After ten years of singlehood even the hint of the ‘L’ word is enough to get Cat packing her bags and booking herself onto a two-week holiday.

A European bus tour feels like a stroke of genius to dodge awkward conversations at home. But little does Cat realise that the first stop will be Paris, the city of love itself.

Joined by new friends, Cat has got two weeks, eight countries and a hell of a lot of wine ahead of her. As they discover hidden treasures and the camaraderie of life on the road, will Cat find a new way of looking at love?
