My Thoughts
First of all I want a baby alpaca! Such a heartwarming and heartbreaking story A real and raw look at marriage. I am such a sucker for a small town story especially when it’s set in the UK! This is the second book in the Love Heart Lane series and it was absolutely full of heart! Christie Barlow has a way of making her characters pop off the pages. She completely draws you in with her words and won’t let you go until the final page of the book. By the end of the book I felt as though I was friends with these characters and had visited this small charming Scottish village. This book can be read as a standalone, but why would you deprive yourself of the first book?
Isla and Drew have the perfect life, a strong marriage, beautiful children, a lovely home… or do they? Isla is starting to feel overworked and under appreciated by husband Drew. Isla is lonely and struggling with the long days alone taking care of baby and the distance between Drew and her. When she realizes that Drew has been keeping things from her how will she regroup and begin to rebuild her marriage? This book Addressed some pretty serious issues and did it with a gentle and loving hand. It was refreshing to read a book about a real couple facing real problems. Also love the sense of community in the story, so many amazing characters banning together to help out each other. A truly lovely story, the perfect addition to your summer reading!

Lovely review, Berit. Love it when an author tackles serious/sensitive themes with such care.

Wonderful review Berit. This looks like it would be a light, fluffy story, but it sounds like that is deceiving. So many people have issues in their marriage after the birth of a baby, this sounds like these problems were handled well.
