My Thoughts
𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓇𝓂𝒾𝓃𝑔. 𝐸𝓃𝑔𝒶𝑔𝒾𝓃𝑔. 𝑀𝒶𝑔𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓁.
Christine Nolfi has crafted a magical story packed with engaging and quirky characters. This is the third book in the Sweet Lake series. I don’t think not having read the prior books impacted my enjoyment of the story, however if I ever have the time I’d love to go back and read the previous books. Jada owns the wayfair Inn along with her Bestiess Cat and Linnie. Jayda is an exceptional baker and has taken on a lot of the responsibility at the Inn due to her partners new romances. Jada has been getting closer to Philip and his adorable six-year-old precocious daughter Fancy. But Jayda has things in the past she needs to come to terms with and now there is a stranger in town asking questions that might just force her to do so.
One of my favorite things in Books is strong female friendships and this book had that in spades. Not only did we have the friendship between Jayda, Cat, and Linnie, but we also have the Sweet Lake Sirens. The Sirens are a group of eccentric colorful older ladies that love to stick their nose into everyone else’s business, love them! Jayda was a great character and I’d really really love her to bake me some baked goods, I spent a lot of this book craving a cinnamon roll! The romance between Jada and Philip was sweet, I always love the friends to lovers trope. BUT the star of this book was Fancy! This little six-year-old was so sassy and spunky, she had such a big heart and a love for all things that glitter. There is also a bit of a mystery to the story and some twists that led to a surprising ending.
I love stories with small-town vibes and eccentric characters and this one was done exceptionally well. I also really like the magical and mysterious elements to the story, it added another layer. I think this book will appeal to lovers of women’s fiction books full of lively characters and strong female friendships. I am hoping that this is not the end to this charming series.

About the Book
She can’t change what’s come before. But letting go could bring healing—and the rare love that comes once in a lifetime.
When Ohio pastry chef Jada Brooks and her two best friends restored the glorious Wayfair Inn, it was a boon to Sweet Lake—and to their own lives. Now Linnie and Cat are focused on private matters: one engaged, the other swept up in newlywed bliss. Jada has also begun looking to the future by dating widower Philip Kettering and forging a sudden, sweet bond with his six-year-old daughter.
But the past isn’t finished with Jada. When a curious guest checks into the Wayfair, her delving questions stir Jada’s guilt about the heartbreaking events that scarred the town seven years ago. The risks Jada must take by revealing the truth will test every assumption she’s made about the meaning of family and the magic of enduring love.
