Happy Sunday!

Excited to share with you today my review for this brilliant audiobook! Many thanks to Rachel for my invitation to this tour and to Jane Lambert for her lovely story!

The Start of Something Wonderful

It’s never too late to follow your dreams….

Forty-year-old air stewardess Emily Forsyth thought she had everything a woman could wish for: a glamorous, jet-set lifestyle, a designer wardrobe and a dishy pilot boyfriend. Until he breaks up with her…

Catapulted into a midlife crisis she wishes she’d had earlier, she decides to turn her life upside down, quitting her job and instead beginning to chase her long-held dreams of becoming an actress!

Leaving the skies behind her, Emily heads for the bright lights of London’s West End – but is it too late to reach for the stars?

My Thoughts

A lovely story packed with heart, hope, and second chances!

Jane Lambert brings a charming voice to this book. Not only with her words but also with her narration of the audiobook. I am a longtime audiobook listener and as a rule I generally try to avoid books narrated by the author, but Miss Lambert did a fantastic job. She had a firm grasp on The characters personalities, mannerisms, and voices. She really breathe life into each of these characters giving them each their own unique voice. There were some parts in this book especially involving the theater that I think would have been a little tedious for me if I were to have read the book rather than listen, but getting to listen to Jane’s lovely English accent just made every part of this book enjoyable!

Emily has been living a pretty glamorous life nice modern apartment, flashy car, designer clothing. Emily has been working as a flight attendant, but when her boyfriend pilot Nigel ends things with her she contemplates a career/life change. So at the age of 40 Emily sells that lovely apartment, gets rid of the fancy car, moves into a room and someone else’s house and pursues her dream of acting. What follows is a lovely story full of food, friendship, fun, and the theater.

Emily was a great character and I really admired her strength! I can only imagine how difficult it would be to start completely over at the age of 40 especially in a profession such as acting. She had the most amazing group of friends and I would have love to hang out with these ladies, they were all just so wonderfully supportive. Seriously I would’ve just loved a book about the friendships with these girls! There is a lot about the theater thrown into the story. Including theater scenes, I could tell this was all really well researched, but not necessarily my favorite part of the book, but that’s just me! Oh I forgot to mention the romance, yes Emily has a second chance at that as well!

A wonderful listen guaranteed to make you smile!

*** Big thanks to Rachel and the author for my copy of this book ***
