Thrilled to share my review for this thriller with you today! This was a group read with my BOOK BESTIES and it definitely encourage a lively discussion!💕❄️💕
This book was a little quart room drama, a little psychological thriller, a little mystery, and a lot intriguing!
This book will leave you bewildered and unsettled and not knowing which way is up! A book about motherhood, tragedy, justice, and hope…. Astoria filled with lies, deception, terrible truths, and redemption… A book that will anger you, frustrate you, and leave you reeling….
Ripped from the headlines, Ashlyn is accused of killing her three-year-old daughter Tasha Nicole… Mercer is a journalist who is grieving the death of her husband and young daughter Sophia…. Mercer takes a job to write a true crime story about Ashlyn and so the threads of these women’s lives begin to tangle… The blurb to the story is short and sweet, so I will stop here with the plot….
Mercer is a likable and sympathetic character whose grief is palpable…Ashlyn on the other hand is unlikable, unsympathetic, and cold as ice…. but as much as I disliked her she was extremely well drawn… The ultimate unreliable narrator, because I don’t think a true word ever came out of her mouth…. A liar like no other, and she was really good at it, half the time I was convinced of her stories…. and to be honest I’m still not sure what the truth is! The girl twisted everything and I mean everything, she turned Mercer and me upside down and inside out and every other direction…. what a brilliantly deceitful character that made this book so very compelling! A book that will hold your attention from first page to last and leave you satisfied…
Absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys a thriller filled with complex characters and plenty of twists!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this sweet little romance! Huge thanks to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and his Sun Chara for her satisfying story!💚❤️💚
Their marriage hangs in the balance, but on this wind battered Christmas Eve, a miracle is born…
When Ellie hooked up with world renowned neurosurgeon, Peter Medeci, aka ‘Prince Charming’, she thought her dreams had come true. But the demands of being the model wife to his career triggers a mutiny within her and she decides to ditch the ‘royal’ life until he sees her as more than his bedroom playmate.
My Thoughts
A short but sweet story full of sentiment and sprinkled with Christmas cheer💚❤️💚
Peter and Ellie appear to have the perfect marriage, but things aren’t always as they seem… Peter is a bit of a workaholic and Ellie feels as though he treats her more like an object then a partner… convince this is not how she wants to live her life Elie leaves her comfortable life to live on her own terms…. this is the story about peter trying to win his wife back in the course of an evening, Christmas Eve….
This was a lovely romance, but typical to so many romances so many things could have been solved with some communication…. both these characters were quite frustrating, I wanted to reach through the pages and knock some sense into them at times! Fortunately they ultimately did get it together… and as in all good Christmas romances this story had a happy satisfying ending complete with some steam…
Recommend for a delightful afternoon or evening reading all wrapped up and cozy by the fire…

A few minutes of courage might change your life…
Emotionally, Tara Porter finds the festive period a challenge. Christmas Day is a reminder of the family she lost, and New Year’s Eve holds bitter memories of the biggest mistake of her life: marrying Garth Tewkesbury. Shunning invitations to celebrate, she seeks refuge in her flat with only her giant house bunny, Hercules, for company.
Professionally, though, it’s the best time of year. Tara’s thriving café, The Chocolate Pot, is always packed. With the café hosting a wedding and engagement party, it’s shaping up to be the café’s best Christmas ever.
When former nemesis, Jed Ferguson, threatens the future of The Chocolate Pot, Tara prepares for a fight. The café is everything to her and she’s not going to let anyone or anything jeopardise that.
Tara badly misjudged ex-husband Garth and, since then, has refused to let anyone in. After all, if you don’t let them in, they can’t hurt you. But has she misjudged Jed too? Is it possible that he’s not the arrogant, deceitful man from whom she bought the café 14 years earlier? Can she find the courage to find out for sure?
My Thoughts
This was a beautifully told story, filled with quirky and charming characters that completely captured my heart!Loved loved loved this book!Jessica Redland I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship! This book was EVERYTHING I look for in a book! fabulous characters, a charming setting, an emotional heartfelt story, and a touch of mystery…This wasn’t your typical Christmas read, and I mean that in the best possible way… yes, there were festive moments, tree lighting, Christmas decorations, and winter weather… but there was also tremendous depth to the story it evoked all the feels…Tara was such a complex well developed character that my heart went out to… she had a rough past and had really close herself off to people…. The character growth in her was the best part of the book, I loved watching this closed off person grow into such a strong vibrant character! I also enjoyed her friendship with Carly and her blooming relationship/Romance with an unlikely character… and my review would not be complete if I did not give a big shout out to Hercules the giant house bunny, I need to Google how big this bunny could be? He really acted more like a dog then a rabbit….The mantra of this book was Be Brave such a wonderful positive message and so true! We really all need to put ourselves out there a little bit more, I know I do! Such a wonderful story and my first from this talented author, but definitely not the last!Absolutely recommend to anyone who is a fan of a lovely story filled with fabulous characters that will make you smile! I picked this book up for the title and I stayed for the beautiful story!*** many thanks to the author and Rachel for my copy of this book ***
Jessica had never considered writing as a career until a former manager kept telling her that her business reports read more like stories and she should write a book. She loved writing but had no plot ideas. Then something happened to her that prompted the premise for her debut novel, Searching for Steven. She put fingers to keyboard and soon realised she had a trilogy and a novella.
She lives on the stunning North Yorkshire Coast — the inspiration for the settings in her books — with her husband, daughter, cat, Sprocker Spaniel, and an ever-growing collection of collectible teddy bears. Although if the dog has her way, the collection will be reduced to a pile of stuffing and chewed limbs!
Her passion for North Yorkshire is shared by fellow-writer and great friend, Sharon Booth and, together, they are the Yorkshire Rose Writers.
Jessica tries to balance her time — often unsuccessfully — between being an HR tutor, trying to re-learn how to play the piano, studying towards a Masters in Creative Writing, and writing itself. Who needs sleep?
