The Kooky Kids’ Club by Robbie Yates @robbie_b_yates @Shalini_G26 #bookreview

Happy Saturday bibliophiles!

A little late to the party on this one, but I am super excited to share with you today my review for this kooky story! Many thanks to lovely Shalini for my invitation to the tour and to Robbie Yates for his wonderful words!🥳

About the Book

Maxine is smart, quirky, and a bit of a misfit. One day, she receives a mysterious invitation to a meeting of the “Kooky Kids’ Club.”

Things are looking bright. It’s nice to finally have a real group of friends. Then Maxine’s teacher disappears.

Maxine doesn’t know what happened to her beloved teacher, or how she can help. But if anybody has the smarts to help Miss Thompson, it’s Maxine and the Kooky Kids’ Club…

This quirky chapter book is for the best kind of kids—the ones who are a little bit kooky!

My Thoughts

A fun well told story perfect for anyone who has ever felt a little quirky, a little peculiar, a little kooky!

Do you ever wish you could go back and tell your 10-year-old self that someday you won’t care as much what everybody else thinks? Admittedly I’m almost 50 and I’m still working on this, but wow I’ve come along way since my tweens! I was so all consumed with what everyone else thought and trying to fit in, a book like this would have been helpful in my life…. my kids fortunately have already made it through these awkward years… otherwise I’d for sure advise them to read this delightful story that will make you feel as though it’s pretty darn cool to be kooky!

Maxine is smart but a little unsure of herself, so when she receives an invitation to the Kooky Kids’ club she is quite excited… finally friends other kids that are just a little bit kooky like her! Loved the club aspect of the story, when I was young I was forever trying to start clubs in elementary school…. when a beloved teacher goes missing, Maxine is convinced that she and the other members of the club are perfect candidates to solve the mystery…. so where is the teacher? And will the club save the day? Well you’re going to need to read this book to find that out!

Such a wonderful story Full of humor and a wonderful message… if there is a tween in your life I’d add this book to your Christmas shopping list!

*** many thanks to Robbie Yates and Shalini for my copy of this book ***

    • Oh perfect! My kids are past the age for this book, but if I had someone in my life that was the perfect age I would definitely pick this one up for them!
