What a fun heartwarming story, set against the backdrop of a beautiful Paris!…
This is Emma Robinsons third book and I have had the pleasure of reading them all… what I love about her books is they are so relatable, books about real people with real lives and real problems…. she tells you like it is in an engaging and humorous way…. The good… the bad… and the ugly… of being a mother, of being a wife, of being a woman… her books reaffirm the fact that you are having normal feelings and that you’re not alone!
I think every mother of small children has had a moment where she just wants to escape! Kate lying awake in the middle of the night unable to sleep… her husband is snoring, her for-year-old is taking over half the bed, and all she can think is; how much is a train ticket to Paris? We’ve all been there, but Cate actually purchased that ticket and got on the train! On the train she met Laura who was on the way to a business meeting, Laura is wanting to move forward in her relationship, while her boyfriend of many years seems to be just fine with its current status…When Kate arrives in Paris she meets up with an old friend Shannon, Shannon seems to have embraced life, but does Shannon have some struggles of her own? Three women all in their 30s all in very different stages of their lives…
I would have loved to be in Paris with these three ladies, enjoying a night of wine and conversation… all three of them are so likable, and they all have their own personal troubles, and you just want everything to work out for them…. I did find Cate the most relatable of the three, simply because that is the path I chose in life… I had three small children in my 30s, but now that they are all grown up what I wouldn’t do to spend the day with them when they were little… I guess we are all a little guilty of the grass is always greener… this book was Filled with a lot of fun, A lot of a motion, and a lot of heart!
Absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good book with great characters that will make you laugh and realized that you aren’t the only one!
