Christmas at The Little Duck Pond Cafe by Rosie Green @Rosie_Green1988 @rararesources #bookreview

Happy Friday book friends!

I have another charming Christmas story to share with you today! A huge thank you to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and to Rosie Green for her lovely words!🛷

Christmas at the Little Duck Pond Cafe

CATLDPC_FRONT RGB150dpiFen has always hated being the centre of attention.
She loves her new job, working behind the scenes at the Little Duck Pond Cafe and baking the scrumptious cakes that have helped its reputation soar. But frankly, she’d rather scrub the public toilet floor with a toothbrush than have to come out and talk to the customers.
She’s always been happy to stay in the background as long as she has a good supply of books to escape into. That’s her kind of romance – the fictional sort where she can read about other people taking a chance on love, but she doesn’t have to risk her own heart.
But that was before Ethan Fox arrived in the village and turned her world upside down. Ethan is a leading light in the local amateur dramatics theatre company and Fen knows he’s way out of her league.
But when the popular village Christmas pantomime hits a crisis, Fen and Ethan find themselves thrown together. Can Fen overcome her shyness and find the courage to step on stage and save the day?

My Thoughts

A short but sweet love story that is sure to make you smile!

I was so excited to go back to the Little Duck Pond Café and catch up with Fen, Jaz, and Ellie… I truly love the essential part the friendship between these three ladies plays in this series…. every time I finish one of these books I want to visit this café, have some yummy goodies, and a long girl bonding session with these ladies! This book can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to? The more time spent with these characters the better!

This time we get sweet introverted Fen’s story…Fen is the genius behind all the yummy treats at the café, she is also painfully shy and quite the bookworm… she has a major crush on Ethan Fox, and after he invites her to join his actors group she starts swooning uncontrollably…. I got a kick out of the fact that most of Fen’s romantic experience came from Books…. something would happen and then she would reference a book and compare the two situations, it was quite innocent…. although made me think what unrealistic expectations I would have if I were to compare romantic situations in real life to books!😉

I really adore Fen and really wanted her to find her HEA! Although I wasn’t convinced Ethan was the best choice for her, I thought there was a much more suitable choice…. so does Fen follow her heart? Or does her heart have a change of mind?

Along with the girls friendship and a blossoming romance we also had the perfect amount of holiday cheer… Christmas treats, decorating, Christmas shopping, snowmaking machine shopping, and The planning of a Snow Ball❄️ so grab yourself that hot chocolate, cuddle up in a warm blanket, and settle in for an afternoon of escaping with these delightful characters!

Rosie Green Author PicAuthor Bio

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café. The first two stories in the series are: Spring at The Little Duck Pond Cafe and Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café.

No One Cancels Christmas by Zara Stoneley @ZaraStoneley @rararesources #bookreview

TGIF! 67 days until Christmas!

I am so excited to be part of the blog tour today for this festive and fun story that will put you in the holiday mood! A huge thank you to Rachel for my invitation and two Zara Stoneley for her magical words!❄️

No One Cancels Christmas

41769750_2042596159190028_6009613159340441600_nIt’s the most magical time of the year, and for travel agent Sarah it’s also the busiest! But this year one man threatens to ruin Christmas for Sarah’s customers – Mr Grinch, Will Armstrong.

The Shooting Star Mountain resort is a magical place, and Sarah has fond memories of Christmas here as a little girl – visits to Father Christmas, husky rides in the snow and hot chocolate by a roaring fire. But as the resorts new owner, Will refuses to play snowball or to deck the halls with anything remotely resembling tinsel!

With customers complaining their Christmas is ruined, Sarah decides it’s up to her to convince Scroogey Will just how magical Christmas can be….

But getting Will into the Christmas spirit is hopeless – he is Bah Humbug personified! But as Sarah gets to know him better, she realises that underneath all the gloom is a man struggling with a pain of his own.

With the big day approaching, Sarah realises that the magic and sparkle can wait. This year, she’s going to spend Christmas day with someone special her very own Mr Scrooge…

My Thoughts

A wonderful winter romance, with some holiday cheer sprinkled in!

This book was stuffed full of everything you want from a winter romance… a beautiful snowy setting, A warm inviting ranch, snowboarding, dogsleds, hot chocolate, and hot guys! OK well at first the ranch wasn’t so inviting and the hot guy was pretty grumpy, but…

Sarah, Sam’s BFF from “ The Wedding Date“…. A book you don’t need to read to enjoy this one, but I strongly recommend it’s super fun! Sarah is a travel agent who has been sending her clients to The Shooting Star Mountain Ranch, for the perfect white Christmas….But after complaints start coming in and she begins emailing the grumpy ranch owner she takes it upon herself to travel to Canada and show Mr. grinch what Christmas is all about… but after meeting Mr. grinch A.k.a. Will, Sarah sees that he has been hurt and there is more to him than what is on the surface… so what has made Will’s heart two sizes too small? And will Sarah be able to melt his frozen heart? Or the bigger question, does she even want to?

A festive story that will make you laugh, that will make you smile, that will put you in the holiday mood… it really was these characters that made this good story so fantastic! I adored Sarah I loved her spunk and her spirit and her tenacity….Will was a really good guy underneath that layer of ice, really the kind of guy you’d want your daughter to marry…. his brother Ed was a wonderful Colorful character, Who made me giggle more than once! Once again I loved, loved, loved, the friendship between Sarah and Sam…. and Sam’s mom Ruth stole every scene she was in, there was one scene in this book where she had me in tears! Really the perfect enemies to lovers story, one of my all-time favorite tropes! I certainly hope this is not the last book with these characters, I really and truly have enjoyed them and I’m not ready to say goodbye!

Absolutely recommend to anyone who loves a good winter romance that is festive and fun!💚❤️💚

Born in a small village in Staffordshire, I wanted to be a female James Herriot, a spy, or an author when I grew up. After many years, and many different jobs, my dream of writing a bestseller came true.

I write about friendship, dreams, love, and happy ever afters, and hope that my tales make you cry a little, laugh a lot, and occasionally say ‘ahhh’.

I now live in a Cheshire village with my family, a lively cockapoo called Harry, and a very bossy (and slightly evil) cat called Saffron.
