Happy weekend all! Just for the record it is still Saturday for me, so I am not late!😇 I had a bit of a crazy day, I had an organizer at my house yesterday and it took her almost 24 hours to organize my house, and it isn’t done yet! Anyways I can’t find anything!😂🤣😂

My Thoughts

A funny feel good story….

This book was kind of a mash up of those old George Burns’ movies “Oh God”, and“A Christmas Carol“ kind of the story of the ghosts of boyfriends past… with the part of Shmoop being played by Josh… and I guess then Ebeneezer is played by Hattie, although Hattie has a much better disposition….. having said this I can absolutely see this book as a movie it would translate to the big screen very well!

Hattie has sworn off men after her marriage to a philandering husband ends… it is Valentine’s Day and once again Hattie’s mother wants to set her up… BUT Hattie is saved by the aisle sign…. yes the aisle 3 sign literally falls on her head scattering baked beans and leaving Hattie unconscious… she wakes up to find herself in the “After Life Lounge“ where she meets Josh…. I don’t know about you but if I had to relive my love life, I don’t think I’d be in heaven!

Even though this book had a lighthearted feel about it it did make you question some things about your own life…. would I change anything about my life if I could? In particular my love life? My own answer is a resounding no! Even though I am also divorced, there is a lot I learned from that… but even more importantly I wouldn’t have my kids if I had not married their father…. although it would be interesting and cathartic, just as it was for Hattie to revisit my mistakes in 4-D….

An enjoyable read that will leave you with a smile on your face, recommend to fans of romance and fun!💕

As I am sure you can tell by the title of this book it is a romance that has a sense of humor, and I’m excited to share my review with you today! Thank you so much to Rachel for my invitation and Paula Houseman for her hilarious story😂🤣

Ruth Roth is a straight shooter. Pity Cupid’s not.

Smart-mouth Ruth is an inspirational humour columnist for a popular women’s magazine. Recently divorced, she has found the love of her life. Without any help, mind you, from the little fat love god. Ruth has decided she herself is her one and only.

And she’s in a comfy place. Why wouldn’t she be? No need to yell ‘Put the bloody toilet seat down!’ No need to hoover toe-nail clippings off the carpet.

But then a silver-tongued Prince Charming fronts up in his shiny Merc and tickles her discarded, little-girl fantasies. He tells her their love is written in the stars.

It must be a misprint.

A romance with this particular PC is not so PC! Still …

Ruth’s life plays out more like ancient myth than fairytale. And what hot-blooded woman can resist forbidden fruit?

There’s a problem, though. Ruth does not have a hot-blooded mum. Ruth has a pain-in-the-arse mum whose squawking disapproval cranks the taboo up a notch.

All the more reason to take up with the stud! But it means taking on the harpy.

Tensions mount, and even Ruth’s man can’t protect her from the trash-talking voices in her head. It looks like he can’t muzzle his own either. When an earth-shattering revelation causes him to give her grief, it makes her feel like she’s dating her mother.

Taking the kind of advice she doles out to her readers is not so easy, and Ruth wonders if this love can survive. More to the point, is it worth the trouble?

My Thoughts

Laugh! Out! Loud!

Love when the second book in a series is even better than the first! This book had a little more romance, a few more laughs, and a little more drama… we all really need someone like Ruth in our lives to keep us entertained….

Ruth has finally found the love of her life…. herself…. but Cupid and his arrows have different plans…. this book really is more of a romance then the previous book, but nothing beats a good romance filled with humor… but don’t worry Ruth’s meddling mother is still in full affect… afterall roof’s new love interest is a lifelong family friend…

This book oozes sas and Snark! A book that doesn’t take its self too seriously and yet addresses some pretty heavy issues…… A balancing act that is very well handled within these pages….

If you like to laugh so hard that tears run down your face this is the book for you! But I’d strongly suggest you don’t read this in public, u might get some odd looks!

Author Bio – Paula Houseman was once a graphic designer. But when the temptation to include ‘the finger’ as part of a logo for a forward-moving women’s company proved too much, she knew it was time to give away design. Instead, she took up writing.
