The French Escape by Suzie Tullett @SuzieTullett @bombshellpub #BookReview

TGIF book lovers!

Thrilled to share with you today my review for this lovely story filled with amour!😍💕

thefrenchescape

It’s fair to say that Flick has had a terrible year. Her beloved father died, she had the wedding of her dreams and only hours after the ceremony her husband ran out on her.

Brenda, fed up of her daughter living like a hermit, decides to drag Flick off to France to stay in a chateau. What could be better than an idyllic escape?

But when they arrive Flick discovers the chateau is all but abandoned.

The only upside of her French escape is the handsome and mysterious neighbour, Nate.

Nate loves his life living in the cottage on the grounds of the abandoned chateau but that is about to be put in jeopardy…

Can Nate and Flick ever learn to come to terms with the past and find love again?

The French Escape is a heart-warming, happy ever after, love story. Follow Flick and Nate’s laugh out loud and emotional journey as they negotiate matters of the heart and learn to trust again.

My Thoughts

Merveilleux! Ou merveilleuse! Magnifique!

Heureux pour toujours!

The title says it perfectly this was a wonderful little escape to France! Filled with fun, family, friendship, food and amour!

Flick has had a rough year, she lost her father, and her groom, the man of her dreams, pulled a runner hours after the vows were said…. I have to admit that “pulled a runner“ is one of my absolute favorite Britishisms, it is just so perfect! SO Flick is not a happy camper, her mother Brenda is tired of her moping around, so she takes her on a surprise trip to France…. not only does she take her to France, but she also has purchased her a château where she can start a new…. mom, are you reading this? Her daughter was down so she took her to France and bought her a château, just saying…..

This French Village was filled with a charming cast of characters and a hot elusive Nate… Maybe the chateau is in shambles and Nate is hiding something, but that added some mystery to the story…. and if you are a fan of HGTV like me, you will enjoy the renovation project…. and if you are a fan of food like me, you will enjoy all the French cuisine…. and if you are a fan of a book full of fantastic characters, like me you will definitely like this book! this really is a simple story of will they won’t they and will she won’t she… but I can guarantee you will be keeping your fingers crossed that Flick and Nate do!

This is an engaging escape that will put a smile on your face… nothing better than a good old-fashioned; and they all lived happily ever after!💕

Strand of Faith

When the choice is between love and life, how can anyone decide?

A girl and a monk, both with extraordinary mental powers, have compelling reasons not to fall in love. But those from whom they expect support are manipulating them both because their choices will have consequences for the rest of the world.

After a stormy youth, Brother Prospero has found comfort and fulfilment in the monastery. That is, until he discovers something that forces him to reconsider his whole vocation. To follow his heart, he’ll have to face his demons again, outside the security of the monastery. Is it worth the risk? Can he beat them this time? Or will they finally destroy him?

Orphaned and mistreated, Leonie has found sanctuary and safety at the abbey. All she wants is to learn how to manage her unusual abilities so that she is not a danger to those around her. When she comes into contact with Prospero everything threatens to spiral out of her control. Whether she leaves or whether she stays, how can she possibly avoid destroying – yet again – those she has come to care about?

Abbot Gabriel is faced with an impossible choice. He can do nothing and watch the world descend into war. Or he can manipulate events and ensure peace – at the cost of two lives that he is responsible for. He knows what he has to do but is he strong enough to sacrifice those he loves?

Author Bio

Rachel J Bonner is the author of the four book Choices and Consequences series, the first of which, Strand of Faith, is due out in November 2018.

Getting a degree in engineering, followed by a career in accountancy is probably not a conventional path to becoming an author, particularly in paranormal romance. Rachel says that, although accountancy isn’t anything like as boring as everyone thinks, writing is a lot more fun. When not writing, she can be found walking in the beautiful countryside near where she lives, which has influenced much of the scenery in her books, or shooting things with her local archery club. Target shooting only, honest. Nothing to worry about.

She also enjoys swimming, eating chocolate chip cookies and growing aromatic herbs, especially thyme and rosemary. It’s no coincidence that her heroine likes the same things.

The Winter That Made Us by Kate Field @katehaswords @rararesources #BookReview

Happy Friday all!

Thrilled to be part of the blog tour and share with you my review for this wonderful book! Many thanks to Rachel for my copy of this book and to Kate Field for her delightful words!💕

The Winter That Made Us

When Tess finds herself unexpectedly alone and back in Ribblemill, the childhood village she thought she’d escaped, she’s sure she can survive a temporary stay. She’s spent a lifetime making the best of things, hasn’t she?

Determined to throw herself into village life, Tess starts a choir and gathers a team of volunteers to restore the walled garden at Ramblings, the local stately home. Everything could be perfect, if she weren’t sharing a cottage and a cat with a man whose manner is more prickly than the nettles she’s removing…

As winter approaches, Tess finds herself putting down her own roots as fast as she’s pulling them up in the garden. But the ghosts of the past hover close by, and Tess must face them if she’s to discover whether home is where her heart has been all along.

My Thoughts

Cobwebs! Gardens! Choirs!

This was a beautiful and emotional story about coming home! Nothing beats A book set in a charming small village…. absolutely love the vibe of these small villages, with these adorable named cottages, and in this book the cottage is named Cobweb Cottage…. Love that! Makes me want to name my house….

Tess has returned home to her childhood village… Tess was a very the glass is always half full kind of person…. after returning home she throws herself into multiple charitable projects… starting a village choir and helping restore a garden…. but is all of this to distract her from dealing with some deep dark secrets? Tess’s housemate Noah appears to be her polar opposite… he is a standoffish, brooding, prickly man…. but the more tests and Noah get to know each other the more they realize they have in common…. Will they be able to reveal their secrets to one another and heal their pasts?

Beautifully told this book really pulled at my heartstrings…. this book got quite a bit darker towards the end, but that added such an incredible layer of emotion to the Book… and as secrets were revealed and Noah and Tess got to know each other better, I found them more and more endearing…. this is a book that warms your heart and leaves you feeling giddy! An absolute must read for fans of small town romances filled with lovable characters and lots of secrets💕
